I'm an avid learner, solid problem solver, and customer-service oriented developer. Building software involves solving tens of problems, making several decisions, and learning new concepts daily. These regular challenges are what attracted me to software development in the first place and keep me interested in the field today. Having worked on enterprise systems from IBM mainframes, to midrange SOAP services, to RESTful APIs, some front-end apps, and CI/CD pipelines, I gathered a good deal of knowledge around system design and integration that I utilize in build solid systems. I wrote a book on HTML and another on JavaScript in 1996/1998 (in Portuguese) and in 2019 two books on data visualization with JavaScript in English ("Learn D3.js" and "Learn Chart.js" by Packt). I have also authored several tutorials, slides, code and textbooks on Java, Java EE, programming tools, patterns, techniques, methodologies, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG, XML/XSLT/XSD and related technologies. My favorite subjects include D3.js, Java and Java EE, interactive graphics and data (mostly XML) transformations. I love teaching and solving problems. I also enjoy electronics, Arduino and IoT and have written a guide on those topics.
