I've been working with UNIX-like systems (Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Mac OS X and many more) for about 20 years, both as a hobby, as my field of study and as a profession. I run my own company in Sweden in UNIX consultation, education and hosting. I've also written five books about programming and Linux. The first book is about Python. The second book is about C programming in Linux, macOS, BSD and Solaris. The third book is about Linux system administration. The forth one is about Linux system programming (the only one in English). The fifth one is about Docker. I prefer to do freelance jobs. I can also do sessions though, but keep in mind that I prefer to use text chat only, no voice.

I used to be a university professor before switching to professional software development. Probably this is why I still love helping people. I can help you with everything related to Ruby and Rails. If you have the performance or scaling problem, I'm definitely the guy to ask. Over the last 10 years I became an expert on optimizing Rails applications, and, as the result, wrote the Ruby Performance Optimization book (http://ruby-performance-book.com).

I have started my career as a web developer 10 years ago. I like challenges in which I can use modern tools and technologies to develop outstanding web applications in look, performance and efficiency. I specialise in Front-End web technologies - Vue, Nuxt, React, Next, and React Native for mobile applications. My Back-End stack includes Node.js with Express and Fastify, Firebase, Python, and PHP. For more details about technologies I know, see the expertise section below. **What I do in a nutshell** - Front-End/Back-End/Mobile - Consulting/Mentoring/Teaching - Sketching and Wireframe prototyping - UX/UI Design - Testing - Code reviews - Workshops **What I can help you with** **New project or features** Do you need a website or a mobile application? Or maybe you already have one, but you want to make it even better and include more features in it? I can build a website or a mobile application for you or help you with your current one. We can establish a short or long-term relationship, whichever suits your needs better. We can work on new features together via 1 to 1 sessions, or it can be done via job requests. **Code reviews/Consultancy** Do you or your team have a project but are not sure if you are following the best practices and patterns? Are you wondering how your code could be improved and be more efficient? Maybe you are about to start a new project but are not quite sure what technologies should you use or how to structure it for the best results. If that’s the case, then you came to the right person as I provide comprehensive code reviews with various suggestions on how you can improve your code and project. I can also advise you on how you can get started. **Bug fixes and issue-resolving** Bugs can be very annoying and hard to track and fix. Sometimes, you can waste hours pulling your hair out while trying to find out what is wrong. I can help you resolve your issues quickly and efficiently so you don’t waste any more time. **Tutoring/Teaching** Are you new in the world of development, or do you maybe want to learn new technologies and tools to advance in your existing career? I offer regular mentoring sessions which are suited to meet your needs and time schedule. We can start from the basics or work on any specific aspect of programming that is of your interest. **Anything else** If I did not mention something you need help with, we can still have a chat, so just drop me a message, and we will see what can be done. **Here are some things I did in the past** **React & Vue The Road To Enterprise books** Learn how to create blazing-fast, scalable, maintainable, and Enterprise-Ready applications with Vue and React. “I recently passed my Google interview and I'm now in team matching! I'm still in shock, to be honest, since I heard back last week. This wouldn't have been possible without Brian - thank you!! I worked with Brian for nearly 1.5 months, and we dedicated several hours to interview prep 4-6 days a week, for anywhere between 3-6 hours a day. I know it may seem excessive, but it was absolutely necessary. In the past, I had done poorly in interviews and often wouldn't even make it past the initial online coding assessments. I failed many times and only made it to two final round interviews after completing dozens of initial coding assessments. Brian worked with me on a long-term basis, and after a few weeks, I could see my confidence improve. I became faster with coding, finished the Blind 75, and nearly finished Neetcode 150. Brian was tough on me, but it was necessary. He taught me the importance of constantly communicating with interviewers while working through solutions. He also gave me a solid framework to help break down challenging questions in a way that made them easier to solve. I heard back within 3 days of my interview that they were moving me to "Hire" for L3. This wouldn't have been possible without Brian. He's an amazing coach and tutor. Thanks!“

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Best Coding Mentor! Olamide is exactly what you need in a coding mentor! After struggling with a bunch of AI-generated code that wasn't working right, Olamide stepped in and was a game-changer. He was patient with me as a beginner and made sure I clearly understood what was going on instead of just fixing things. What really impressed me was how he'd constantly check in to make sure I was following along. He also helped me understand why things weren't working and how to think through problems better. His explanations were very clear and it is obvious he is a seasoned expert. The best part? He taught me how to plan my coding projects better for the future. Definitely book a session with Olamide. You won't regret it!“
