Hi! I've been writing code for 17 years, loving every second of it (well, almost). For the past 7 years I've been working as a Full Stack guy in a couple of small startups, so I have a lot of hands-on experience across the stack (frontend, backend, devops). If you find my expertise relevant, I'd love to guide you!

I pride myself on my ability to write solid, well documented and fully tested software. With the projects that I have worked on, my software has not only needed to hold up to use by its users, it has also needed to be able to withstand scrutiny in court. As a result, I take writing quality code very seriously. Over the last few years I have worked on creating a platform to revolutionize the way that investigators (of all kinds) explore unstructured data, primarily text documents. I did this by taking advantage of the latest technologies and techniques in information retrieval and natural language processing. I also created a simple yet powerful language that allows investigators to ask deeper questions of the data. The end result of all of that effort is a system that allowed a forensic accounting team, of just two people, to go through a collection of over 500,000 documents and find emails that allowed them to receive $4,000,000 in damages for their client. The original target was only $250,000.

“I am a Junior in college preparing for a technical interview for an internship at a technical company. I have been grinding leetcode and watching hundreds of videos in preparation of this interview, but one meeting with Dejan revealed all the gaps in my knowledge. Problems that I though I truly understood, I really only had a surface level understanding of them and had memorized how to write the code for them. I would highly recommend working with Dejan if you want to feel 100% ready for technical interviews“

“I had the pleasure of working with Syed as my software engineering tutor, specifically for Android Studio, and I couldn’t be more impressed. He explained concepts clearly and patiently, making even the more complex parts of Android development much easier to understand. Syed always made sure I was comfortable with each step before moving on, and his hands-on approach really helped solidify my learning. Thanks to his guidance, I gained a lot more confidence in using Android Studio and understanding the app development process. I would definitely recommend Syed to anyone looking to improve their skills in Android development or software engineering in general. His support made a big difference in my progress!“
