We’re very excited to be working with MakeSchool to provide on-demand 1:1 mentorship for the MakeSchool Online Academy!
MakeSchool Online Academy teaches aspiring game developers how to build iPhone games online in 8 weeks. Students will learn with the same curriculum being taught by MIT, Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon University. With Codementor’s help, students will also have access to on-demand support from experienced mentors to help with code bugs and questions.
Backed by Y Combinator, Andreessen Horowitz, and other prominent investors, MakeSchool is building a replacement for the computer science degree. Over 500 students have taken MakeSchool’s in-person courses and over 1 million students have used MakeSchool’s online tutorials.
Codementor shares the same vision of making computer science education more accessible to anyone. With the partnership of MakeSchool and Codementor, any aspiring game developer living anywhere will be able to access the same curriculum being taught by MIT, Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon University and get on-demand support from Codementor’s network of 2000+ expert mentors.
MakeSchool’s Online Academy course will be a mix of text-based online tutorials, peer-to-peer support, lecture/speaker videos, and on-demand Codementor support. In the first half of the class, you’ll learn to build iPhone games by working through our tutorials on graded projects. Video lectures by MakeSchool instructors will also help you along. During the second half of the course you’ll work on your own game using our 17,000 free art assets.
