Working on the MIT App Inventor project as part of Google Summer of Code 2017. App Inventor is a project developed by Google and currently maintained by MIT to help people with no programming backgrounds in creating Android applications within no time. I am working on providing the menu bar support in the App Inventor. Already created a prototype of it, working on creating a more stable version to support the larger audience. Major challenges involve providing support for very older Android devices back to API level 7 which is a very tedious and difficult task as many new useful features have been launched with API level 11 and more which we have to work around for older devices.
