ABOUT ME
Senior Frontend Engineer
Senior Frontend Engineer

A 29 year old frontend developer from Stockholm, Sweden. In reality I am a fullstack developer, but don't tell anyone - I only want to do the fun parts of backend development. I am a self taught programmer that started coding at age 10, combined what I had learned with Photoshop and started to create websites.

I've been working professionally with web development for 15 years, using JavaScript (<3), CSS, CSSinJS, C#, PHP, Ruby and a few others. For the past 4 years I've been building enterprise grade React e-commerce solutions for global clients.

Mentoring and coaching has become a big part of my job in the past 5 years, it's something that I truly enjoy. When you teach someone something that they don't already know, that moment when you can see that they understand it - such an amazing feeling for both parties.

Examples of what I can help you with:

  • Questions related to JavaScript / React application structure, architecture, feature development
  • Code reviews
  • Feeling stuck or unsure of how to proceed? Let's figure it out!
  • Help you set up learning goals and give you the resources / tasks that will take you where you want to be.
  • If you are a self taught programmer or a junior developer, maybe you would like to learn about data structures and algorithms by building something real by using these?

Planning on creating a couple of video classes that walks through features I have built in real world projects, including the planning around them etc, look out for these during 2019!

I've built everything from small to large and enterprise scale applications with JavaScript, both in the frontend and the backend. The past few years I have specialized in React and creating application architectures built around it. The past few years I have niched myself within e-commerce, building sites for leading global retailers.

Built a framework with a colleague on top of ASP.NET to be able to server render JavaScript applications such as React on platforms such as EPiServer. Strong focus on Frontend Architecture and way of working. Built high profile projects in React, Redux, ReduxObservable, RxJS and NodeJS + ASP.NET and EpiServer. Abandoning old technologies such as Sass, built interactive component libraries using Styletron, resulting in a performant, minimal and well-packaged npm package delivery that the customer can use in multiple projects as a framework.

At ICA we developed a PWA that we architected to be offline-first. A micro-service cluster with a GraphQL client between it and the application allowed us to build a great offline mode with persisting mutations. I also acted as an advisor for several projects within ICA, including the main website.

At Leading Global Fashion Retailer we built a framework on top of ASP.NET to be able to server render JavaScript applications in an out of process Node instance, opening up for the creation of hybrid-language universal applications on these platforms. We used this to migrate the legacy codebase (Knockout MPA) into a full fledged React server rendered SPA. The resulting work was a performant, multi-language, multi-market solution that was tightly coupled with D365 to show in-store purchases for your account on the website, removing the need for a physical receipt.

At ICA we developed a PWA that we architected to be offline-first. A micro-service cluster with a GraphQL client between it and the application allowed us to build a great offline mode with persisting mutations and optimistic updates. The resulting application is closed to the public and used by ICA employees internally to schedule and control repeating tasks. The biggest challenge here was to make the application run on older hardware that the stores already owned, prompting us to create an iOS and Android wrapper app that could run the web application.
