How to Completely Remove Bing from Google Chrome

Bing Search Engine is as popular as Google, and it is commonly used as an alternative to Google. Bing will automatically install itself as the default search engine in maximum web browsers. If you also want to change the search engine of your Chrome browser instead of Bing, or you want to remove Bing from the browser completely. You can perform this both process together and easily.

How to get rid of Bing search engine in Chrome

Open the ‘Google Chrome’ browser.
Click on ‘Customize and control Google Chrome’ icon at the upper-right corner of the browser screen.
Click ‘Settings’ from the menu.
Scroll down to the Appearance section in Settings.
If ‘Show home button’ is On and Bing web address is listed as the home button then delete it.
And Press ‘Enter.’
Now, Scroll down to Search Engine section in settings.
Click ‘Dropdown arrow’ next to “Search engine used in the address bar.’
Select any ‘Search Engine’ from the list other than Bing.
Now, Bing will get removed from default Search Engine of Chrome browser.

How to remove Bing from Search Engine list

Click ‘Manage Search Engines.’ It also in Search Engine section just below to the “Search engine used in the address bar.”
Click ‘Three dots’ icon to the right of the Bing address.
Choose ‘Remove from list’ into the options.
Now, Bing will remove from the Search Engine options in Chrome.
Now, Scroll down to ‘On startup’ Section in settings.
Click on ‘Open a specific page or set of pages.’
If Bing Web address is listed there, then Click ‘three dots’ button to the right of Bing Address>click ‘Remove.’
Close the ‘Settings’ tab to save the changes that you’d made.
Bing has been removed completely from your Chrome Browser.

How to Reset Google Chrome Browser

Resetting Google Chrome browser will remove all the changes settings including Bing and turn it to its original state just like that when you use Chrome for the first time.

Open ‘Google Chrome’ browser.
Click on ‘Customize and control Google Chrome’ icon at the upper-right corner of the browser screen.
Click ‘Settings’ from the menu.
Scroll to the bottom and click on ‘Advanced’ in settings.
Again, scroll to the bottom and click on ‘Reset’ in Advanced settings.
6. Read the confirming Reset box carefully and click on the ‘Reset’ in confirming window.

Reset your browser settings
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
At the bottom, click Advanced.
Chromebook, Linux, and Mac: Under “Reset Settings,” click Restore settings to their original defaults and then Reset Settings.
Windows: Under "Reset and cleanup,” click Reset Settings and then Reset Settings.
If you removed unwanted programs or reset your browser settings, you might need to turn some extensions back on. To turn extensions on, at the top right, click More More and then More Tools and then Extensions. Only turn on extensions you trust.
