Looking Back at the Best iOS Apps of All Time

iOS marked 12 years in 2019 and ever since this platform was introduced to the world, its hype has only gotten bigger and bigger. Brainchild of Apple Inc., iOS is now one of the most widely used mobile operating systems, ever. Back when iOS started, it had a single-touch interface, with only 500 mobile applications. Now, fast-forwarding it to the current times, it offers a multi-touch user interface and has a whopping 2 million mobile apps, available on the App Store for download. Crazy, right? Talk about some real growth!
We bet you didn’t know, that until April 2017, around 728 iPhones were used worldwide and we’re sure the number has only skyrocketed until now. All these years there sure have been some of the best and some of the worst apps that iOS fanatics have come across. Thus, in the piece ahead, we are going to shed some light on to some of the best apps that iOS has seen in all these years:

Category: Games
1. Clash Royale
If you enjoy games with real-time battles and team-building, then we’re sure Clash Royale must’ve been on your iPad or iPhone. The game is a Clash of Clans spin-off and revolves around the typical player-versus-player approach. However, the only catch? To get a better experience of the game you should have a Wi-Fi connection that has a reliable internet speed or you will not be able to enjoy the game.
2. Angry Birds
Doubtlessly, Angry Birds was one of the few games that had seen an immense breakthrough. This game is a perfect mixture of physics, puzzles, taking the bad guys down and falling in love with adorable characters, altogether.
3. Cut the Rope
Just talking about this game is getting us all excited! If there is a game that can feed your ‘cuteness’ adhesion, all while enhancing your brain’s puzzle-solving skills, then that has got to be Cut The Rope. Yes, the levels of this game can sometimes get pretty nerve-wracking, but no matter how hard it continues to become, we’ll stay for the color bomb.
5. Fruit Ninja
Another all-time favorite on our list is Fruit Ninja. Like seriously, nothing gets those stress levels down better than slicing a bunch of fruits and hearing the ‘ksshhnnggg!’ of the sword. Fruit Ninja was and surprisingly, after all these years, IS still among the top-free and top-paid games.
6. Heads Up!
You might have seen this one on the Ellen Show. Heads Up is THE best if you have a thing for guessing games. With a 60-second interval between each image that’s to be guessed by the player, this game has an endless array of themes, that are best of different kinds of players.
7. Jetpack Joyride
Another one from the house of Halfbrick, Jetpack Joyride has been a favorite for as long as we can remember. The game requires a ton of quick-thinking, as you have to constantly keep jumping up and down while dodging, ducking and diving through the hurdles. Plus, the graphics and compelling new levels are what kept the users of this game, hooked.

1. Facebook
Yep, the world’s most favorite social networking app is still standing, untouched, at number 1. Like, seriously! If there is one app that almost every other person has on their iPhones, then that has got to be Facebook. Therefore, instead of beating about the bush, we’ll only say that Facebook is untouchable!
2. Messenger
Are you surprised? Neither are we! Messenger is Facebook’s counterpart and ever since this particular purpose-built application hit the App Store, it immediately grabbed the second position and it hasn’t budged. To be honest, given that it comes from Facebook’s family, we’re not surprised!
3. YouTube
YouTube is a one-of-a-kind application that has been fixed past time for many that like enjoying entertainment on-the-go. Cutting it short, YouTube is what started the whole trend of mobile-entertainment.
4. WhatsApp Messenger

1. Vine
Although this beloved video app was sadly taken down in 2016, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t remember the good old times when it was still around. Vine was an absolute favorite back in the days and was among the ones in the App Store list. Like, c’mon, Vines helped start Logan Paul, Shawn Mendes and QPark and many other YouTube Sensations across the world. So you can understand what hype it must’ve had.
2. Netflix
And finally, the app that rules the entertainment-apps’ realm: Netflix! This particular platform covers almost 37% of the world’s entire internet population and ever since its debut, it has only seen since a vertically-upwards growth.
