I've worked on various performance engineering projects in my career and can help with problems around this subject matter. When it comes to the cloud, performance engineering is especially important as it can actually lower the cost incurred from running the application in, for example, AWS. Performance engineering can focus on individual technologies all the way up to the entire application architecture. The goal with any performance engineering project is to achieve improved performance for the applications we're delivering which balances reasonably with the budget and time we have to work with.

I've been involved in many data modeling projects over the last twenty years including projects which have data models written in Java and which rely on any one of SQL, Hibernate, or JPA; I've also written packages for R that transform data from an object model into a data frame; finally, I've also written applications in Apache Spark that transform data into data frames and data sets. I've worked on performance optimization projects which involved tuning SQL queries and also identifying problems with SQL queries.
