I've been using Node.js since nearly the very beginning, before npm was a thing, when the API changed seemingly daily. I'm a core contributor, and founder of the diagnostics working group. I've also participated in the docs, api and hardware working groups. I've worked at many different startups using Node.js in a variety of different ways. Often doing realtime with socket.io or micro-services with a variety of communication styles. I've used it a lot for frontend tooling and building app UIs with react and react-native. I've made some electron apps too, including a nodeschool workshop runner UI.
