Why I never should have stopped coding...

Published Dec 02, 2020

Below is a brief description about my skills, experience and past 10 years of completely useless existence on this planet. COVID has rendered me an administration and followup office based completely boring non-productive role.
I wish I could start practicing and writing code at the level I used to when I was a full-time programmer before 2010...

I am a software and business development generalist with experience of 10+ years in analyzing & developing agile software projects.
I have experience in multiple roles & in managing teams of over 20 developers + UX/UI & product owner/ba teams.

I deal with the top management to develop customer journey & roadmaps of value-driven software development.

I have tremendous experience in dealing with Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport & API integrations with airlines, hotels, service & B2B industry.

I currently work as an eCommerce & Digitalization Section Head for the Online Local & International markets of Monginis, Egypt. A diverse Currency/Country/Language customized digital franchise platform.

My last product was the development of a futuristic AI-based travel ERP platform with b2c, b2b, b2b2b, etc business channels & cms for rapid deployment of websites - with robust integration layers offering 1 level connectivity & plug n play usage of APIs & inventory from aggregators & airline providers.

I am flexible, smart & a quick learner, I have experience traveling to Europe, UAE, East Africa & have no restriction on time, place, salary for the right profile.

Eventually I realized a product/project/analyst role can be replaced or affected by attrition in tough times. Developers/Software Engineers are invaluable. Neverthless a senior can be replaced by a junior/mid level lower package employee but you still need someone to write the code for you.

Beware AI is already capable of doing this. The tables may be turned soon, where, design can be converted to functional code in the near future.
