Test Driven Development has completely changed the way I look at software development. I have found it gives me great confidence in my code, reduces the amount of bugs that reach production, and allows me to change the system without fear.

I have been writing web applications using Javascript for many years. While it can be an extremely approachable language, it used to be hard to manage large projects with it. In recent years I have used much of the most popular frameworks and methodologies coming into Javascript, aleviating most of that hardship, as well as state management problems, clearer more testable code and modularity within applications.

I've written a lot of Java over the years, starting with Java 1.2 back in 2000 and up to the latest Streams and Lambdas. I have used it for web applications, microservice servers, online monitoring systems, financial systems and more.

I've been using Scala extensively for writing servers. I love how expressive it allows me to be, and how much boilerplate gets removed when you apply it correctly. Also, the fact that it lends itself to functional programming makes it extremely suitable for many domains that languages like Java make me work harder.

I use git and Github extensively, been teaching it for a few years now.

I've been building web applications for many years, and have a good handle on troubleshooting, separation of concerns, testing, layout, and more.
