I'm a senior web software engineer with 7 years experience in a range of roles, including software engineering management, cloud infrastructure development, software architecture, full-stack software engineering, and quality automation. I served most recently as DevOps Team Lead at a HIPAA-covered MedTech company, where I worked as both an individual contributor and a day-to-day manager for the team and its projects, on a leadership track. I have extensive experience with technologies including JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure. I am also an expert in technical documentation, engineering team processes, and technical project management. In my most recent role I lead a company-wide cloud-spending reduction project, reducing annual spending by at least $3.6M.

During my six years at GeneDx, I evolved through three distinct roles. For the first two years I worked as a full stack developer for the public-facing Portal, a Ruby and JavaScript-based web app where doctors and patients could order and manage genomic testing. My work spanned complex front-end flows, routing and schema design, production support, Git-based version management, and basic Docker work in GCP.
In 2019 I joined the growing Quality Automation team and began working on infrastructure in earnest. QA was heavily focused on automation, tooling, development standards and developer enablement: engineers used our tools to test, monitor and maintain their own applications. I created automated testing frameworks and integrated them into our CI/CD pipelines, integrated third-party tools like LogRocket, and ran testing for new product launches. As I became the most senior memer of the team I gradually took on more leadership duties, and in 2021 I was promoted to Team Lead.
In 2022 the Director of DevOps asked me to lead his team by taking a dual role: I both performed technical work as an individual contributor, and ran the team’s day-to-day operations. In addition to regular maintenance and upgrades, I managed and contributed to several large discrete projects, such as a corporate top-level domain switchover, migrating the Portal from GCP to AWS, and consolidating IAM access across a constellation of AWS accounts. In early 2023 I was asked to lead a company-wide project to slash cloud spending. By the end of the main project in July, we had cut annual expenses by approximately $3.6 million.
