Recent accomplishments include:
- Serve role as Hiring Manager for Better Growth Engineering org, helping to grow the team from 8 - 30 engineers in under 2 years.
- Manage a team of 6-8 Junior-level to Senior Software Engineers. This includes career ladder leveling, technical mentorship, team planning and execution towards core team KPIs.
- Own Better.com infrastructure (over 1 million users), including support of third-party and cross-team front and back-end web services (responsible for powering location based rate quotes, marketing content and other data concerns)
- Coordinate efforts with key cross-functional stakeholders, including Product Owners, Data Engineers and Technical Leads to determine and deliver on success metrics.
- Implemented plan to drive Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) down 20% resulting in greater response time and reduction of tier one outage issues.
- Mentored both Apprentice and Junior Level Engineers to next level at both Flatiron school and Insider through a hyper growth phase, resulting in increase in team competency and execution.
- Increased unit level test coverage of key front end functionality from 0% to 54% during re-platform of businessinsider.com front end architecture.
- Increased time to first paint by 6% on user facing Insider sites using techniques such as font lazy loading and critical resource path optimization.
