Modern Web Development is going Back to the Future
In my role as software engineer I'm often discussing the pros and cons of different web application architectures. Skills-wise I tend to build rich SPAs mostly using React connecting to some kind of API. In some cases this feels overly complex and at the same time does not always provide the best performance.
I recently did a few NextJS projects and tried some of their new features and it occurred to me that we might be at a turning point in terms of how we build web apps.
