Looking Forward to Unite 2023

Unite, the renowned Unity-based creative conference, is back, live and in person. Don’t miss the exciting Keynote, the most recent gaming technology, thirty meaty deep-dive seminars, parties, and much more. And it’s all taking place this year in the ancient city of Amsterdam on November 15th and 16th.

Unite hasn’t happened for the last four years so there will be plenty of catching up to do, and much to talk about. But now, back together again, Unity has many new things to bring to the sessions and there are plenty of new features that need to be shared and discussed. Unite is a means of bringing people together to revel in their favourite developer software, but is also many other things. As well as being a means of disseminating information about the latest updates and features with Unity, the conference aims to:

  • Be inspirational. Hear from other Unity users and industry experts, view their most recent projects, learn about new technology, and be motivated for your ongoing creative and game journey.
  • Expand your Unity skills. Learn vital game production skills in a range of seminars including new Unity features, time-saving processes, publishing expertise, tips and techniques, and much more.
  • Get connected. Meet like-minded Unity creators, inventors, and the people behind your favourite games and experiences, all while getting insights and expanding your network. One of the benefits of adopting Unity is that it is a community, and everyone feels like they are part of a global team rather than lone developers. There are numerous methods to connect with other Unity users, but none are as effective as doing it in person.

The organisers of Unite 23 have designed an exciting schedule that covers all aspects of video games, including the conference’s signature Keynote, which is known for its thought-provoking material, crowd-pleasing announcements, and walk-on appearances from the minds behind some of Unity’s most beloved games. Each of the four daytime tracks—Ecosystem, AI, Multiplayer, and Growth—will have over thirty in-depth technical talks.

The Unite 23 team will be showcasing the most up-to-date Unity tools and features, showing off efficient workflows, dispensing tried-and-true tips for making games more popular, and providing a sneak preview at what’s to come in the future of Unity. Developers from major companies, as well as other members of the Unity community, will be showcasing the incredible games and experiences they’ve created using Unity and how they’ve optimised them for cross-platform play.

The conference will have two distinct elements; a welcome party at the Heineken Experience Stadshouderskade 78, 1072 AE in Amsterdam, while the full conference will be held at Taets Art and Event Park, Middenweg 62, Hembrugterrein, 1505RK Zaandam. Unfortunately, there won’t be a virtual element to this conference, but there will be plenty of footage on YouTube following the event.

Of course, while this conference is open to any Unity user – from beginner to expert – it is aimed at professional users and the ticket pricing reflects that. The early bird price is 325 Euros, while the regular tickets are 405 Euros. If you wait until the door price, you’ll end up paying a fairly eye-watering 495 Euros per ticket. You need to be over eighteen and there are concessions.

Unite 23 is an extraordinarily exciting event that will cover all manner of Unity-based subjects, such as building a new XR world, igniting AI creativity, and developing persistent worlds. But in addition, the team will also focus on the commercial aspects of Unity and how to actually make a living from the games that you make and release.

We have missed it over the last four years, but now it’s back, we are going to embrace it. We look forward to seeing you there.
