I come from a technical background (BSc in Maths and MSc in Computer Science) and have a varied work experience. I started as a consultant, which gave me good foundations in terms of communication and project management, as well as problem solving putting the client first. I then moved to quantitative trading, which taught me about the importance of prioritisation and dealing with time pressure and last-minute deadlines. During this job I realised that the culture in Investment Banking culture was not for me and that I wanted to work in a more dynamic and innovative environment. That is when I started working on my data skills.
I was lucky enough to already have a background in maths and computer science, which made my data education journey much easier. I completed various Udacity courses like the Data Analyst, Data Scientist and Data Structures and Algorithms ones, which I enjoyed a lot.
These helped me become a Senior Product Data Scientist in a tech startup in London, where I stayed for a couple of years before moving to a Data Scientist role in a Big Tech company.
After completing my Udacity courses I started mentoring other students and reviewing their tasks. I have been doing that for 2+ years and highly enjoy it!
