High performance Computer Vision

"Systems" was one of my concentrations in my MEng. I love designing/building application systems. It's my favorite kind of work. Whether it's database schema or orchestrating distributed services to work in unison, it'll keep me up at night til I figure it out. Recently I've gained a lot of experience working with edge computers with shoddy (at best) network connections and frequent power loss (batteries dying or gettin unplugged). In such a setting, fault tolerance takes on a whole new meaning.

I have experience working on performance intensive software. Heavily optimizing C/C++ applications, getting Python to play nice (using libraries or custom wrappers on C/C++), and getting ML models to run quickly on deployed systems (via TensorRT/CUDA/cuDNN).

Native apps, chrome extensions, webapps, you name it. It's not my preferred area, but I do have a good amount of experience designing and building UIs. Lately, I've done a few large scale projects with React/React Native and that is my preferred client-side framework as of date.

AI was one of my concentrations in my MEng and I have experience with a variety of technologies in the field. CNNs and CV pipelienes, some NLP, and more general NN and other model types. I've built some fairly complex projects using Tensorflow for super modular training procedures (swappable network architectures, input pipelines, loss, etc.) and have a fairly in depth working knowledge of the framework. Additionally, I have a bit of experience writing CUDA code and I work with Nvidia's new framework TensorRT (Python and C++ api) for optimizing NN runtime.

I have some formal security education, I've worked on several projects that had challenging requirements for data and device protection, and I like to keep up with the latest hacks/security best practices. Afterall, you can't build good systems without building secure systems
