Yellowcard Financials is a crypto trading platform that is committed to making crypto accessible to Africans. With over 100, 000 retail stores locations across Lagos, Tanzania, Kenya, Cameroon and South Africa, traders can now conveniently buy and sell cryptocurrency. My role involved: Contributing to team brainstorming sessions Participating in sprints planning and sometimes anchoring sprint demos. Building out the mobile Architecture to accommodate our ever-growing customer base. Participate in the hiring process and onboarding new developers Documenting tools, technologies and code conventions for a seamless onboarding process for new hires.

Timz is a video conferencing tool, unlike traditional video conferencing tools all participants have to be available for meeting at an agreed time, Timz allows distributed teams participate or engage in activities like standups or discussions at a convenient time irrespective of your timezone. Solely built and integrated the architectural patterns of the mobile application. Built and integrated services that allow communication between the app and the device hardware components, like rendering camera preview stream, image capturing and video recording as well as interfacing with other microservices. Worked on an in-app multi-media processing service that allows the application to automatically centre cropping and thumbnail generating for recorded videos. Implemented Deep-link handling such that when users have the app installed, tapping on links launches the desired page on mobile. Engaged in QA sessions to ensure shipping of quality work to production.

Andela builds distributed engineering teams with Africa’s top software engineers. We handle talent assessment, onboarding, and continuous improvement. Played a key role in the development and maintenance of an in house Conference Room Scheduling Software like Robin, which Integrates with the Google calendar API. This tool made it possible to effectively manage calendar events and meeting rooms within my organization. It also provides analytic insight to how meeting room resources are being utilized. It saved Andela a huge subscription fee spent on robin monthly. Proactively engaged in team activities and took on responsibilities like participating in sprint planning, organizing product demo and conducting alignment sessions within the team. Onboarded and mentored new developers joining the team, those with very little experience are given a level up project of which I oversee the quality of work and understanding of the mentee before they’re given a thorough work through of the main product’s codebase.
