I've been working with ECMAScript based languages, ActionScript and JavaScript for over 15 years. My experience with AS (2000-2008) and JS has been from a native perspective as it's imperative to have a foundation that is based on vanilla JavaScript. Working with ActionScript early in my career has given me an edge when it comes to using JavaScript from an interactive approach. This spans from S.P.A.'s to understanding how to effectively write native syntax first before jumping to a framework. It's extremely important to have a solid foundation of JavaScript if you plan on learning new libraries and frameworks.

After switching back from Front-End from Flash Development I got a head start on leveraging CSS to enhance the UX from an interactive, animation and design perspective; CSS @keyframe animations and transitions. Understanding how to leverage flexbox and grid is extremely important when developing for mobile, tablet and desktop. This includes to cleverly write semantic and well-structured HTML to support using newer properties like flexbox and grid in CSS.
