Particularly limited by my old connection's bandwidth I'm not as proficient with it as I'd want me, but have average experience when it comes to using their command line tools for computing, storage and map reduce.

Definitely the tool where I settled. Rails is amazing in letting me try things fast, allowing them to be so well engineered that it can be shipped. No other tool has offered this balance between productivity and best engineering practices, the focus and ease on testability is amazing and the ecosystem is just awesome. By getting mostly out of the way it allowed me to truly focus on the problem at hand, and due to its simplicity it has made possible for me to jump into tools and subjects that I wouldn't consider possible anywhere because of the inherent complexity.

The reason I'm a happy developer. The only language I really really love programming in. I started when some project I use to follow suddenly migrated away from Perl and I loved what I saw. I now do professional development mainly based on this gem of a language and I only use other when it's really a better fit for the task at hand. I consider myself very proficient in the Ruby language and although I'm missing some stuff I'm giving myself a 9 ;)
