I joined the JS consultancy, YLD, as a senior javascript developer in February 2018 and was deployed onsite to consult at Trainline for the entirety of the contract. The focus of this work was around consolidating the UK and European platforms into a Single Global Platform, as the business looked to expand into European and Global markets. Additionally I worked on the redesign of the search ‘matrix’ and ticket selection flow for the core UK audience in line with new designs. I also worked with another small, mission team to create a new service for querying the consolidated database of 120k+ stations and locations across Europe. The requirements were high resiliency, throughput, stability and multi-lingual support. This was built on AWS infrastructure: EC2, CloudSearch, Lambda.

Medstars.co.uk is a start-up based in Birmingham whose aim is to provide an online and localised directory of private medical practitioners. The brief of this project was to design and build a working prototype from scratch, with architecture and framework decisions left to myself and a fellow freelancer.

School of Code is a learn-to-code startup I co-founded that aims to diversify technology by changing the way that coding is taught. The SoC has built a prototype of an online coding platform which teaches coding through an interactive game, and has reached over 100,000 learners through partnering with Code.org - try it yourself at schoolofcode.io
