ABOUT ME
Self-taught Visual C++ Developer & Manufacturing Test Engineer
Self-taught Visual C++ Developer & Manufacturing Test Engineer

I am a Windows software developer who has developed custom physical computing and data acquisition software applications for a major international corporation since 2001.

That's my day job.

As a mentor and freelance contractor, I am available from 5 pm to 10 pm US Central Time every evening and I am usually available on appointment on the weekends.

I usually monitor Codementor regularly throughout the day -- so if you need my assistance, message me and I will get back to you.

The language that I first learned and the one that I am most experienced. I mostly use Visual C++ and I am VERY experienced in using Microsoft Foundation Classes but I have recently completed quite a few projects that have given me at lot of experience with STL and .NET (Windows Forms). I have successfully completed over 50 projects in Visual C++. These were all physical computing projects that used data acquisition and simple robotics to functionally test manufactured electronic products to ensure they met quality specifications before they were delivered to the customer. My favorite book on software development is Effective C++ by Scott Meyers. I love programming in C++!

I have used Visual Studio 6.0 for over 10 years. I moved to Visual Studio 2010 back in 2013. In 2019, I started using Visual Studio 2013 for a few projects and the immediately moved over to using Visual Studio 2017. I am now using Visual Studio 2019 Visual Studio is the main platform that use for development. I also Visual Studio Code (VS Code) for Java development.

I have mostly used C# as a mentor here. I have grown to enjoy it and I list it as my second favorite language (after C++) It is very similar to C++ (much like Java) and I have assisted many students so far with C# on some very extensive projects using basic Windows Forms as well using various other associated technologies such Language Integrated Query (LINQ), RestSharp, Entity Framework and SQL

Anton is truly a godsend. He is the most understanding and patient person I've ever met. He helped me grasp the basics again, which was crucial for completing my assignment. Throughout our time together, he never made me feel inadequate. Instead, I left with a newfound confidence. I learned a lot from him.

Really helpful.Anton helped debug and fix complex project. His primary concern is helping you and not just taking money. If he is taking time to read your code, he will pause the timer, so the cost doesn't rise. He spent a lot of time with me, with the timer paused, to make sure the project was fixed. If you have a bug in your code and you need your project fixed, he will get it done and he is advanced in c++. I doubt there is a problem he couldn't solve. Highly recommend.

With Anton you can learn more in an hour than an entire semester! Also, if you feel that programming is boring, he will make you understand why and how it can be fun.

This tester was designed so that an operator could test two room humidity/temperature sensors at the same time. The application was designed so that the operator could start the testing of a single room sensor; and while that sensor was testing, the operator could start the testing of another room sensor. Since the functional test of each sensor was approximately forty-five (45) seconds, this allowed the operator to continuously test the room sensosr in an alternating fashion that increased the output of the work area.

It was mandated from Marketing that product line would have a Data Matrix (a 2D barcode format) label placed on each product of a particular model type before shipment to the customer. This was in addition to the product's existing Code 128 barcode. This product line was being tested on two different functional testers -- an older functional tester whose software application was written overseas in LabVIEW 8.5 and a new functional tester that was written by myself in Visual Studio 2010. So I had to create the same software feature for both functional testers -- one in LabVIEW and one in Visual C++. Basically the requirements of this software feature would that it would parse out the product's information -- which was captured by scanning the the product's Code 128 barcode label at the beginning of the functional test. Then this software feature would parse product's information, add additional mandated information and then format and print the resultant Datamatrix label at the end of the test -- once the product passed the functional test.
